Welcome to Extempore's second annual PD Extravaganza!
What is the PD Extravaganza?A bonanza of professional development, a spectacle of SLA pedagogy, and a plethora of proficiency. All in one place! Our PD extravaganza brings you presentations and discussions on relevant topics in world language pedagogy, led by top instructors, researchers and professionals in the field.
Sessions will split into two different types: workshops and presentations.
- Workshops: Workshops consist of two sessions each of 1 hour and 15 minutes. These sessions are led topic experts, who will introduce a topic (for example, vocabulary acquisition) and lead attendees through activities and discussions surrounding that topic. Our goal for each workshops is for attendees to leave with something (i.e. an interpersonal assessment, a presentational writing rubric) that they can immediately use in their classroom.
- Presentations: 60-minute webinar consisting of 45 minutes of presentation followed-by a 15-minute Q&A. If you have attended any of our previous webinars this year or in prior years, this is the typical format that we use.

When？Sessions will take place from

July 18th to FrIday, July 23rd, 2022. Exact times for each presentation and workshops have yet to be determined, but all sessions will start in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CST.

Where?On Sched, of course! Well, and on Zoom too. Links to join Zoom will appear on the session page within ten minutes of the scheduled start time.
Can I get CEUs for participating in the PD series?While we cannot guarantee credits, we can provide certificates of attendance. Please email
thomas.murr@extemporeapp.com after you have attended all of the sessions for which you wish to receive credit to receive your certificate.
Please keep in mind that while we hope you will watch our already available recorded webinars, we do not provide PD certificates for recorded webinars. You must join the webinar live via the zoom link.All workshops and presentations will be recorded and uploaded to Sched via our YouTube channel immediately after the conclusion of each session. (Note: both forms yet are not open to responses; they will be open upon the beginning of the PD Extravaganza)
Each form submission will qualify for one entry per individual per session. Participants can submit feedback forms for as many sessions as they attend, but entries for the giveaway will be capped at three. Participants can earn one extra entry by tweeting during PD Extravaganza with #ExtemporePD for a maximum of four total entries. Winners will be contacted by email upon the conclusion of PD Extravaganza 2022. Good luck!
